Welcome to the Intro to Spinning workshop, in which you will learn to use a drop spindle to create yarn singles and use the same spindle to ply new yarn.
Become functional in one of humanity’s oldest arts in just a couple hours, and practice to become proficient for a lifetime.
Plus, enjoy a chance to handle different types of wool and spinning fiber!
Students will each also take home a handcrafted spindle to keep creating new yarn treasures.
Students will learn:
- An overview of different textiles and fiber
- How to use a drop spindle to make yarn
- How to ply yarn on a drop spindle
Each student will receive:
- At least one ounce of specially dyed or natural wool
- A unique, turned wood student spindle
- The ability to spin yarn for enjoyment and survival

Registration Fee: $100 (includes supplies incl a handcrafted spindle for you to keep)
