Yin and restorative yoga are both yoga practices that include releasing stored tension from the body while calming the busy mind. Both promote meditation and the relaxation response that allows the mind and body to fully relax and restore. Experience the decrease of muscle tension, heart rate and busy thoughts. This is a place of stillness that offers the opportunity for letting go, being fully present, and connecting with inner bliss and happiness. The yin yoga practice focuses on held poses for 2-5 minutes for lengthening and releasing from deep fascia and connective tissue. The restorative yoga practice focuses on supported poses for 3-8 minutes for the body to fully relax in each pose. Each class will include personal guidance, assistance and props to meet the specific support needed for each person. Join AnnMarie Mello-Morris for this weekly Monday evening class.
