Gentle Flow is a slower and kinder type of flow yoga. Poses are presented in a calm and pain-free range while synchronizing each movement with the breath to relieve muscle and joint stiffness, to increase mental relaxation and to prepare to gain the health benefits of restorative yoga. Restorative Yoga is a supportive and restful practice with the use of props such as blankets, blocks, bolsters and straps to support and ease into a full state of relaxation and balance. Massage balls (a tennis ball works) are incorporated to assist with releasing myofascial tightness. The restorative yoga practice is an invitation to promote parasympathetic (relaxation) response, which decreases the effect of chronic stress and fatigue and supports recovery from illness or injury. Gentle Flow and Restorative Yoga is open to all levels.
