Want a wild start to your new year? 
When you’re facing the after-holiday blues while packing up the decorations and taking down the tree, never fear. Come celebrate the new year in a thrilling, unique way at our annual Tree Toss event.

Tree Toss is a much-anticipated event that has become a tradition for our wild family. Each year, the friendly folks at Cranberry Tree Farm donate their unsold trees to the Animal Park, and we give them to our animals as a special form of holiday enrichment. They love the strong scent of pine and scratchy textures! If you’ve never seen wild animals receiving holiday trees, presents, and toys, don’t miss this chance. We'll also have field games and a face-painting station!

We want to share this tradition with you. Come join the fun!

Observe Our Animals At Your Own Pace

Because Tree Toss is a self-guided walkabout event, you can spend as much time as you want admiring the residents you find the most fascinating. Our friendly and knowledgeable staff and volunteers will be stationed throughout the grounds to tell you about our animals and answer your questions. You can also take a break to enjoy some delicious food or drinks from Tenco Coffee and Southern Harvest Catering, and  even some adult beverages by Dingo Dog Brewery and Iron Gate Winery.  

Make A Present For An Animal!

We offer our residents more than just trees at this event—and you can help create these special gifts! Come before 11:45 and join us for the crafty fun! No special skills are required, and we will provide all the materials. All visitors are invited to participate. 

Learn From Our Keepers and Experienced Animal Handlers

Our keepers and animal care staff will be hosting a special Keeper Talk at 1:40PM under the picnic pagoda area, located just before the vendor area. 

Rain/Snow Make-Up Dates

Please note: each event date has a rain/snow make-up date. When you plan your Tree Toss adventure, please also set the rain/snow make-up date aside on your calendar. If the weather forecast around our facility includes ice or freezing rain, we will postpone for your safety and contact you to reschedule. Here is the make-up date

Get Your Tickets Now

All tickets must be purchased in advance of the event. We expect both dates to sell out, so buy your tickets while they're still available!  This is a self-guided walking tour of the park on our gravel path which is not wheelchair-friendly. If you have accessibility needs, please call us at 336-421-0883 to make arrangements ahead of time.  

Ticket Prices

General Public Adults (ages 12+): $26.00 per person

General Public Children (under 12), Senior, Students, Military, First Responders: $20.00 per person

Children under 3 years of age: Free

Weather

Our staff will be monitoring the weather carefully in the days and weeks prior to this event. We will be having fun at Tree Toss in the rain or shine, but we will move the event to the make-up date if the forecast predicts unsafe weather conditions. We will make every effort to contact you at least 24 hours prior to Tree Toss to alert you to any necessary cancellations. Please dress appropriately for the forecast.
