Free Spirit Freedom
Free Spirit Freedom is a cultural arts initiative under the Hillsborough Arts Council, and it seeks to build bridges of cross-cultural understanding through photographs and narratives.
On Friday, June 29th from 6-9pm at Paynter Law in Hillsborough, a select group of high school students will present their artistic works expressing their perceptions of the walls of yesteryear and today - 64 years since Brown v. Board, and 50 years since the end, statutorily, of segregated schools in Orange County. Also on exhibit will be redesigns of historic photographs and images from the Free Spirit Freedom collection on former schools for children of color. Additionally, Regina Gale will read her poem, "Black and White".
This exhibition is in partnership with artist UNITED. It's part of Hillsborough's Last Fridays and Art Walk, and it's free and open to the public.
