Free Family Film: "E.T. The Extraterrestrial."
For the Hillsborough Arts Council’s Last Friday celebration on June 28, 2019, the Hillsborough Classic Film Society will present "E.T. The Extraterrestrial" in the meeting room of the Orange County Public Library on Margaret Lane at 6:30 pm. This is a story of the friendship between a young boy and a very short, and very frightened, alien creature, told from the point of view of the alien and the boy, a story in which the adults are only footnotes. Winner of four Academy Awards, it lost out on Best Movie to "Gandhi," directed by Richard Attenborough. (Attenborough said afterwards: "I was certain not only that 'E.T.' would win, but that it should win.") The showing is free to the public and there will be free popcorn as well. Parents, grandparents, introduce the youngsters to Last Fridays and bring them to see this family classic!
